Therefore, it would give a strong signal when it encounters a surface mounted junction box with, for example, a switch or lamp coming out of it, but given that the conduit is run in between reinforcing steel work I suspect it would be of limited utility for detecting that.
Anyway, I can work out approximately where the conduit is, and to be honest it's not that important as long as I know where either end are.
