Whilst the way the article comes across does not show the Councillor in a good light and certainly comments about heading to Switzerland for an assisted suicide are way out of line, I do agree with the sentiment of how invisible recumberents are to other road users. A recumberent is pretty much invisible to a car driver if alongside, let alone larger vehicles.
From a personal viewpoint, there is no way I would condsider riding one on public roads under any circumstances.
Oh and whilst I'm maybe making enemies, that picture of a pick-up is not representative of the size of the average pick-up truck found on the roads in the UK.
