Another cheap option is some carbonzone MTB forks with canti mounts. They have a wide enough range that u should be able to find some thing that works.

Other wise surly cross check 1" fork seems like a sensible move.

Mate has some oak cycles 653 ones he might sell me so I'll probably go for them.

Crosscheck are nice but $$$
