Wow. That's bonkers. We are trying to get 80 or so riders and raise £250,000. We get a bit more daylight. Only 11 hours of darkness. And a bit more warmth. I hope. I will be in touch with him to get any ideas. For large numbers, safety is going to be a major factor. As will the battery life of Garmins.
