the frame is a leader 722 and renowned for less than ideal clearance. its steel, it cost £100, I'm happy...case in point:
i have this exact fork from a previous build...its 44mm rake. the why is all about aesthetics. i don't like the shape of the fork, especially around the rear of the brake drilling. also I figured (rightly or wrongly) by going from 44mm to 30mm i might tighten the clearance up a bit.
i realise this might make the handling less relaxed, but given the HT angle, its not going to be too bad. so that's where I'm coming from really. appreciate your comments!
