I bought a vernier caliper the other day from a £1 shop!
This was after asking in several serious hardware shops and B&Q and each place not having a clue what one was.
Funniest response from the owner of one 'hardware shop' "oooooooohhhhhh that's one of them thingy stands that painters use to stand on isn't it?????....."
No mate, no.
Kind of thing to look out for and grab when you see.
