So, Podium has finally included the option for Median-Buchholz style ranking, which for me removes the last reason for using Challonge.
It works slightly differently to how Challonge did it.
Challonge took the your opponents points, and dropped the top and bottom results. That might be ok for some sports, but I think it misses a lot of useful information out (goals scored, etc).
So Podium has two tie breaking factors, opponents points, and opponents goal difference.
So firstly it doesn't drop the top and bottom opponents. I think that's a good thing. If you play 1 top team, and 4 bottom teams, why shouldn't the fact you played that team be counted.
Secondly, having opponents goal difference as the secondary factor means that if two teams have played very similar opponents, in terms of points, they can still be separated by the goal difference, which in polo often seems to be a good way to separate good teams from great teams.
