  • Hi, new to the forum, have an Olmo for my rides and I'm currently sourcing parts for a fixie project on an old Raleigh Team Banana.

It's my first project so I may well be asking some newbie questions over the next few months.

  • welcome and ask away but be sure to use the search function beforehand as practically everything has been covered.

  • Hi, recently joined forum as have converted an old Raleigh Winner to fixed gear and am loving it, to the extent that I am only riding fixed at the moment. I'm something of an anomaly I suspect, a Rural Fixie rider from a somewhat hilly location, so it was a while before I decided to give in to temptation and try what seemed somewhat counter intuitive albeit very seductive. Its working on my daily (14 mile) commute and giving me extra exercise, so that's got to be a good thing. I may start a sub forum sometime for those of us on the Celtic Fringe

  • looks really nice! i really dig the bars

  • Hello everybody

My name 's Ariel , 18 years old and from Paris. I have been ridding for 1 year.
My current bike is a Veneto ( If someone knows were I can show it and describe )

That's pretty much it for a description of myself

  • Hi there mates! New to the forum, just doin' the usual "hi there" thing!

I'm Daniel, from Portugal and I've just joined the bike riding world! I'm building a single speed for my daily trips, so than i can give some rest to the car!

As I'm needing some parts for the project I'm opening a "Wanted" thread in the section!

    Best regards to you all!

  • Hi there, too. Never expected such a big forum only für two-wheel-cracks ... great!

I'm from Gafanha da Nazaré, near Aveiro but i really love Lisbon! Great country this one, too bad our politicians suck!

  • Hello all. Guess I should introduce myself since I've already posted a few times. After 3 years in Tokyo I've just moved back to London with my missus and the Kona Paddywagon I used to do the Shimanami Kaido.

You might see me pootling between Brixton and Shoreditch High St. on said Paddywagon (with the saddle too low as it is stuck), or Brixton and Rye on my Allez.

Also, what the hell does DAS mean? Never mind.

  • It means Dead Air Space.

It what Londons Trendy East London's famous fixed gear cyclists shout when they get scared of the silences.

  • No it means Defensive aids system

  • Hi! Started riding in London a couple of months ago, currently ride single speed but planning to transition to fixed once I get hold of/get the hang of clipless pedals. I'm on a shitty no logo and funds prevent me from improving it but oh well, it does the job.

  • Hello from the North, got a fixed this time last year for grass tracking, needless to say there's not been much of that about. See what next year brings.

  • Hello from Ireland, have been lurking on your forum for some time now, I feel I'm ready to introduce myself!

Predominantly ride/race a BMC streetracer sr01, owned a fixed gear peugeot framed bike for a few months at the beginning of the year, and have just finished building myself an on-one pompino commuter/winter training bike. I'll put a build thread up in the relevant forum for you to comment and criticize ;)

  • Hello - sout west london native, east london resident.

Was riding until victim of theft, came here to read the locks threads. but will be interested in general nonsene to!

  • use to ride be4 military got hurt got out now im fat n wanna build a freestyle that will hold me up lol

  • Evening everyone. First post intro.

Live in West London and work in town. Was riding fixed for about 5 years until my bike got stolen when my flat was burgled in March. Six months and a pain in the arse insurance company later got my new bike a few weeks ago. Can't believe how much I've missed riding.

A friend told me about this place and the classified and bike porn threads kept me going. Anyway, gone back to gears and loving it.

  • Hello,

My name is Alex, I live in London (SE) since 3 weeks.
    I'm French, and I'm fixed.

    Bye bye.

  • Hello, I'm new here.

I ride fixed, currently got a cheap no logo bike that I've been riding the past two years but I have just ordered a Cinelli Vigorelli 2012.

  • Hello, glad to be here.

I don't ride fixed, but favour older frames with new components so feel I could learn a lot here.

  • PS, I'm trying to start a new thread, so hopefully this'll put me onto three posts.

    Thanks!
