  • Well you'll never match the sentimentality price. Sometimes you just have to wait for things not to sell a couple of times for it to hit home.

  • So after deciding the Aprilla RS125 was too unreliable and opting for a Honda CBR125 I have now changed my mind again and am on the look out for a Honda NSR125 to learn on.

Insurance is cheaper than a tiddly CG125 but derestricted it'll hit 105mph (admittedly voiding the insurance).

  • Err no it won't, a race kit aprilia will, nsrs are reliable tho
    I raced hrc 125s they're 135mph

Just heard of the death of a legend tonight, terry shepherd died earlier this month, a great man, incredible what he could do, designer of the ts1 kit
It was a great pleasure to of known him having worked for his lad
I'll be raising a beer tmrw in his memory

  • I raced hrc 125s they're 135mph

Me too! (years ago, still got it in my bedroom)

That's real shame about Terry. A mate and I were obsessed for ages about sticking one of his big bore ns 500 motors in an MC21 frame.

  • I wish I still had mine, it went off to hodgsons dad then I had a road crash n had to watch our kid run my cbr :(

Terry was ace, a guy wanted some unobtainable piston, terry comes in the workshop n with a lump in his hand starts to lathe up said piston 20 mins n done, never seen anything like it

and the terms of your provisional licence.
If you want to go faster pass your test.

That's funny man. Mine came from hodgson's dad with a set of wp upside downs off one of Neil's old bikes. Lot's of really lovely helpful people around back then (mid to late 90's) Remember Steve Patrickson? He used to post bits out and would only take cash once they arrived....used to let me pay a bit later too if I was skint.

Good days. I miss the smell of avgas and a747!

  • yeah i used to get most of my stuff off steve, much cheaper than padgetts, mine was a bit of a shed, ex tt bike, 87 bottom end, 93 top making over 40bhp, a pig to start but itd keep up with anything pre airbox, even had my brother off on his 250 around the 3 sisters :)
i was racing in 2000, smashed my knee up at aintree quite badly, that put me out til said road accident that ended any chance of getting back into it, shit happens
dont miss avgas tho, it used to coughback and by the time id finally got the thing started id be throwing up off the avgas fumes

Knees do take a beating don't they? Hurt mine highsiding on the penultimate lap of a superclub race at brands. Bike ran pretty sweet in the end, mix of 91/94 bits with a good Wrathall barrel. Always used to run it conservatively rich so lost out on top end. The 95 and up bikes were a lot quicker but you could mix it up with them around the smaller tracks. They often used to stick us out with the SS400 bikes and it was always fun scything through the backmarkers of their race.

  • i saw this beauty yesterday, parked in front of stolenspace gallery... of course customized, and i just spotted a yamaha sign stamped on the head... anyone know the original model? looked pretty slim so nothing bigger than a 500cc i think...

  • POSTPONED
Due to the general french strike on the other side of the channel, blocking boats, roads, petrol stations, restaurants, cinemas, sex shops, supermarkets, hotels, etc, our trip to France will have to be postponned to next year, spring 2013. Just blame the communists...
Tanya, BlueQuinn and I should be able to get either our booking transfered to a new date or changed into a credit that we will be able to use in 2013.
    Grosses bises a tous!
    Loic

    Hi all,

So I had to change the tickets before the date of original departure (this thursday) or fares would have been lost.

I changed my tickets and BlueQuinn's ones to a date in 2013 (they did not agree to give a credit, which would have allow some coordination between us all to decide of the date...) As I was obliged to pick a random one, the dates for the trip to France are now:

-Leaving Portsmouth Thursday the 24th May at 23h00, arriving in Le Havre on the 24th in the morning
-Returning from Le Havre on the 26th at 17h00 for a late-ish arrival in Portsmouth the same day

The dates are fairly unchangeable as each modification of the booking costs £10 which we already had to pay today BQ and I.

Oh, BlueQuinn, please chaeck your notification of booking change that I did not fuck it up and ask for a different date than the ones above, I was a bit in a rush doing this earlier and I did not have a computer / calendar in front of me when I talked to them the second time...

**** Please everybody book this in their iphones / androids / psions or whatever, and let's not cock-up this time:

    ** ** New list:

    -BLueQuinn
    -veLLo

    RIP.
