    Very light as well.

  • Quality not quantity, Ludwig. Anyway, I'm not advertising that channel. LMNH launch thingy for the paperback is on the horizon...

  • Well done!

I want hard copy. So many more applications.

  • Just bought the Kindle version.

  • Great work Scarlett - I remember kegs successfully grinding away any enthusiasm for the Canterbury version, really looking forward to the paperback read.

  • Looking forward to the hard copy

  • Wow, fucking awesome work BMMF. I thoroughly enjoyed that. Laugh out loud funny yet utterly profound in others. Loved your wife's illustrations too. I'll be buying the paperback when it's out too.

  • Great stuff BMMF. Really enjoyed that, and especially enjoyed the prose of the Tester's Tale (not sure if it was intentional but it reminded me of The Raven). It had very subtle references throughout, which showed a deep understanding of all those disciplines.

  • shinscar was telling me about this on sunday. good things. will be getting my eyes round it soon.

well done you and faith dude

  • BMMF: "jonny just posted 'well done' to both of us."
    MrsF: "Indeterminate jonny?"
    BMMF: "Mm-hm."

  • Has this been read yet?

  • I mean it's alright but has a Bristol based blogger who used to go to South drinks and also owns a Specialized Shiv interviewed the author yet?

    Lolz.

  • Gonna buy the E-Book tomorrow, I am demanding a signed copy when available :)

  • Got it onto the eyephone after being educated in the wonders of tech.

Thought I'd have a quick peek. Didn't stop till I'd finished reading it. It conjured up very acute mental images. The illustrations compliment the words nicely.

    Very enjoyable.

  • nice one, scarlett.
i look forward to the hard copy.

  • Read this last night. Very enjoyable..

I thought I 'recognised' a couple of the characters - though I expect they are amalgamations of lots of different people.

  • List of favourite rhymes:

    1. 'Bonded' & 'Lemond did'
  • BMMF: "jonny just posted 'well done' to both of us."
    MrsF: "Indeterminate jonny?"
    BMMF: "Mm-hm."

heehee. spoke with ray last night - think he was gonna put a review up on amazon

  • oh, and bought it for my kindle earlier. looking forward to a good read tonight. review to follow.

  • List of favourite rhymes:

    1. 'Bonded' & 'Lemond did'
    2. 'fear in' & 'keirin'
  • Have just re read it and have to say after looking up some of the words and occasional whole lines I enjoyed it even more the second time round. By the time the good old paper version comes out I would expect to of researched the remaining unknown to me words and fully understand the mind and workings of Parker, Scarlett.

It's clever, it's witty and even looks pretty.
Well done you two I am really enjoying it, again and again.

  • Also just re-read it -superb. I particularly like The Randonneur's Tale.

I don't think I mentioned how much I like the illustrations before either, would love a fancy glicée print ;)

  • Typically enjoyable and idiosyncratic write up on TheWashingMachinePost.

Looks like the paperback will be officially launched at LMNH on Saturday 10th November from around midday. I'll write something more official soon. It'll be cash sales only (£6.99), I'll sign them or bits of your bodies if you want, and while you're there you'll be able to witness the UK's finest framebuilders in action at 'The Great British Braze-Off'.
