Do components manufacturers like shimano or campagnolo actually make any significant amount of money providing equipment for professional cycling teams? or is this mainly a promotional tool while the money is being made with amateur and recreational cyclists? Just curious...
At the pro-tour level, they will be paying, sometimes very heavily, to get their gear onto the team bikes. Down a level, they will just free-issue the kit. For a sponsored amateur team, the support will be in the form of a discount.

It's Friday night so him and his missus'll probably be "making peanut butter" again when they get in from the pub.
Much to the neighbours chagrin. -

If I was to be setting up an ecommerce website (selling jam, pickles but not Ed's Nut Butter) what software would I need and how much would it cost to set up and run for 12 months...
If you want minimum commited cost, you can do it via paypal (no monthly fee, they take about 5% of each transaction IIRC) in combination with a cheapo web hosting provider, which I think you can get for around $5 per month. You don't need any software, unless you want something to help you generate the HTML for the site.

Should I make my new specialized/hed 3 spok a front or rear? Front axle is cheaper. I'll be using it on the track mostly so which position (if any) offers greater aero advantage?

Thanks for the reply. It's for a disabled led social enterprise, some of whom will have learning disabilities so I want to avoid any need for intermediate IT skills. The Market is also the blue rinse sector so paypal is probablynot common for them either, rather cheques & pdq / credit cards etc. Few other people seem to produce accessible software, so it's a long trawl for something appropriate.

Going to Brighton for the first time this week, bit last minute. Has anybody got any recommendations on where to stay for a night or two midweek?
Not got a massive budget though

I've got some cotton clothes bags, which attach at four corners via snap fasteners to a wooden frame, problem is the bags have shrunk in the wash, even though it was a cold wash as specified on the label and now the fasteners won't quite reach so I can only do up two at any one time diagonally rather than all four.
This is frustrating to say the least.
How can I stretch the bags so I can get the fasteners to attach? -
• #36547
I'd try wetting them with really cold water, hanging them to dry by the fasteners with bags of rice/beans etc in. Just weigh them down.
-
• #36548
would that stretch the hemmed fabric at the top where the snap fasteners are attached as this is the difficult bit?
-
• #36549
Ahh, I get you. I thought you meant they had loops with snap fasteners that you put round the frame. Then simply stretching the loops would be enough.

i'll take a photo might be easier to show rather than tell..
