How safe is it to lock up around Mare Street/Hackney Empire while I go see Squarepusher tomorrow? im guessing not very, but public transport is looking like an epic ballache...hmmm...(stupid east london)
Bojo bike it!
I kept thinking the same thing for ages and it suddenly occurred to me last week that whenever i need to be somewhere that's not safe to lock my precious bike, I can leave my bike somewhere i know is safer and just hire bike it to the location. I really don't know why the thought never came to me before.
The nearest hire station is at the southern end of Broadway Market (Regent's Row). It's quite a long, if relatively nice, walk.
I must admit that I really don't know what the securiy situation is around there now. A few years ago, there were lots of theft reports from the stands outside the Technology & Learning Centre, but none from the racks outside the Town Hall in the Town Hall Square. No idea if they've slain the problem.
