The thread is in part my fault.
Mostly because it arose during some silly conversation that I know quite a few single women who are cool people and really smart, and they were discussing where the equivalent single men are in London.

Yup, they seem to be on here.
The only problem is that a vocal minority also seem to hate women and engage in constant sexism and put-downs. I wouldn't really advise any of the women I know to come on here as most are super intelligent academic friends of my girlfriend and I personally would be very embarrassed to show them this world. In person they might like the guys, but it remains true that most of the people on here who are exceptionally cool offline are total jerks online.
As to the general question, nowt wrong with dating anyone, and having something in common is a great starter-for-10. Though offline at beers and on rides is probably a way better place than online to work it out.
