^ Brilliant fun thanks - only 2 mechanical niggles
1) Constant ticking from rear mech - I think a return spring was damaged in flight leaving inadequate chain tension.
2) Slight loosening of LH BB cup caused chain to rub front mech when climbing.

Simonfreese - A bit of an epiphany for me too! get the bike on the road and have some fun on it - you can worry about period correct, colour coded or superlight component selection another day!
