• No! Your logic is a trainwreck!

    This is the argument you are having, condensed:

    Teh Court of Law: It's against the law to jump a red light in a vehicle, but it's ok to cross the road if you're on foot without waiting for a light or for a crossing
    Noble red light jumper: I'll ride my bike where I want, when I want! Fuck the police!
    Conspicuous consumer of Time: That's against teh law
    Noble red light jumper: Yeah, well, you'd do it if you were on foot, yeah? QED, motherfucker!
    Conspicuous consumer of Time: You wouldn't be breaking the law if you did it on foot, but you are breaking the law if you do it on your bike
    Noble red light jumper: Exactly! EXACTLY!

    Do you see why this argument makes no actual logical sense?

    This teh law thing you mention - does it apply to everything on wheels on teh road ? - or anything that touches teh road ?

    (I do know that jaywalking isn't an offence in this country)

    ps - and as a cyclist I am vunerable to pedestrians that stroll out in front of me
