As in, the thickness of the NATO material is too thick?

I have this Heuer Pasadena and would like to get a new strap for it. I'd like to fit a NATO, but it seems to be quite tight around the pins so I can't feed one through. I currently have a leather rally strap on it with a deployment clasp, but it doesn't feel comfortable so it means I'm not wearing it as much as I'd like.
try fitting the pins back on top of the nato.
so...take off the strap and remove the pins, place the nato where it should sit, then push back in the pins, I have done this with another lug covered watch. -

Although I am a total hypocrite.
My Gold Seamaster got sent to Pakistan against my wishes to be serviced, came back buggered, thankfully not ruined. Still not being seen by Omega. #cheapskate
Oh God, my old Seamaster Bumper had been to India, and after my watchmaker took a look at it when it became intermittent, he wouldn't work on it and told me to get shot of it. They'd mixed up old parts and flipped things over where they'd worn, etc.
I'll try and get an address for my watchmaker in Edinburgh. He's great and very honest.

Thanks - that works, just need to get 20mm nato now for a better fit in the lugs

Does anyone have any opinions on this?
Worth it? Things to ask about etc.
Cheers,

I know nothing about it except it looks really nice. I used to have a hand me down Rado that got taken off me and donated to my grandmother's chauffeur in Pakistan. I miss that watch.

I'm on the hunt for a reasonably priced automatic, with day and date, and probably a leather strap. Ideally one that has a manual wind as well.
Also is there a reason there are so many Omega ladies watches on ebay?
-

They're not auto's.

What is reasonably priced?
I have a nice 60's Seiko Automatic that i'm thinking of selling on.

^ This one:
I've binned the bracelet though...

What is reasonably priced?
In my book sub-£200. But obviously actual price depends on the watch itself.
They're not auto's.
What's the difference between self winding and automatic?

I was going through an old chest of drawers and found one of these Lance Armstrong Ti watches tucked away (:
forgot how big and bulky it was....
Also found an old Festina from the doping years... -

I thought the difference was that self winding watches kept going even though the mainspring was fully wound, potentially damaging the watch and also making it run fast whereas automatic watches have a 'slipping mainspring' which stops this.
Could be completely wrong though.

Just got my Submariner back from a service and repair. Nearly 2 months turnaround (cost approval, the actual service, and then 'hand testing' in Kent for a couple of weeks).
Not cheap, whatsoever, but came back as good as new.

Need a bit of advice / some ideas;

That is lovely. Prefer existing strap. HTFU

The "overwinding" of mainsprings by autos was resolved back in the Fifties by most manufacturers. I guess that like 'overwound' hand wound watches this is one myth that will continue to run and run.
'Self Winding' is just marketing speak for an automatic. I see it sometimes on older watches (pre 1970's).

FOUND!
So when I lived in Sydney 12 years ago I walked past a watch shop and FELL IN LOVE. I needed to own this watch. I used to walk via this shop, out of the way, from work every day just perv at it, sometimes going in to try it on. I'd make sure it was a different member of staff each time incase they thought I was mental. I finally got it for my 21st birthday. Then I barely wore it! Too chunky for my paltry wrists. Then I thought I'd lost it. Over a decade later, and several stone in body weight, the shoe finally fits, and I love it not one jot less than I did all that time and distance ago/away. It's not expensive, it's only quartz, but I love it all the same.
The face is actually shiny foil like BlueQuinn's bikes <3

Can anyone recommend a mechanical timepiece for about 200 quid that I can give to a man as a present ?
What about Monopoly money?
