are there any other options

looks like a good option will they work for sti;s i wonder what the tyre clearance is on them

Yes, they are designed to work with road levers. Clearance is not as big a CX cantilevers, obviously, but should be adequate for anything which will fit in a Pompino frame.

STI's on a pompino? What MDCC said, if not proper v brakes and tekktro v brake levers

Stis as they were only brake levers I had and I like the shape too. Thanks fellas

You could drill a hole in your stem like a hardcore chain smoking Belgian cyclocross mechanic!

That was fine in the olden days when the cables came out of the top of the brake levers and stems were great lumps of solid metal. The modern equivalent is a cable hanger hung off the lower bar clamp bolts of a typical 4-bolt stem

This Ritchey headset with the hanger integrated into the top cover could also be an option if they do a version to suit your headset type

Big dredge here but I stumbled upon this while looking to see if there were any hangers for sale in classifieds. Does this solution not mean that the brake cable is tightened slightly when you turn the wheel? I would think it inhibits free steering a bit, no?
It seems good because you're not adding stack height which is why I'm interested.

Does your stem turn relative to your front wheel? If it does, you have bigger problems to tackle than inadvertent brake actuation. If you'd stood back and thought for a minute, you wouldn't have had to dredge this thread :-)
Also, while I'm here, the actual correct place for the cable hanger with cantilevers is mounted on the fork crown, as this takes the steerer out of the load path entirely and make brake chatter all but impossible.

Hi, I love the stem-bolt hanger. Any ideas where to get one?
The other option I'm looking at is a fork-mounted hanger, SJS have this one Raleigh Front/Rear Brake Cable Hanger which would work but require a hole to be drilled.
Cheers, al.

swan neck cable stop is what is needed
hi ive just got a pompino and the steerer is very short i can fit the stem on but thats it so i cant fit my canti hanger on it
also i only have a hole in the rear of the fork so cant fit a fork mounted mount
other than trying to drill another hole (if so what size is a canti bolt likely to be are they standard) are there any other options
bar mounted hanger / stem mount ?
cheers
