Well, it's against the rules, on the basis that you had the full knowledge of Todd's injury before hand (other captains might have picked him if temporary subs were allowed).
That's what the squad system is for. If we allow this, it effectively changes the rules for the rest of the league, and allows temporary subs for everyone (and in theory forces a re-draft).
Don't forget, you don't have to play your first games until late November.
At the same time, if all captains agree to that rule change, I'm not going to stop it happening.
