Am looking for a solid but mid range BB? I'm in Australia BB's are plentiful but advice seems to be, "this the one we sell today" Helpful but maybe not the best one.
This will be going into a Resto 531 Team Panasonic. Ok Guys it cost me a few $ to get it so something has to give right now, so I can ride it around and keep the nearest and dearest content..contentment is...well ya know :)
Thanks everyone

thats FSA bb7420, also rebranded as RPM and Sugino.
uses 6001 bearings, crmo axle. CRC had them in 110mm for 6 euro for about 1-2years, just as good as shimano un 54. -

thanks~
so much OEMing going on with BB's. Velosolo implies Tange OEMs for Sugino. -

Stronglight have 103,107,110mm JIS in steel cup version. think its made by Kinex in Slovakia,
Planet x should have some, possibly Ribble
SKF another bearing maker has started producing their own bottom brackets. they are German and I read recently that in the past Campag used their ball bearings for hubs&bb's as they were as good as it gets, every thing else was made by themselves in Italy except the bearings. *also may have had their record hub shells made in Spain for a few years, havent double checked that
I've recently got my Plug 2010 using the Evans r2w scheme and I've been doing a nice 15 mile round trip for the last 3-4 weeks. I've been lucky and the weather has been on my side apart from a couple of soaked rides last week.
Anyway, I've noticed that a squeak is developing and I've got a feeling it's the cheap BB from my OTP bike. Was thinking of a minor upgrade (can't spend a lot of cash unfortunately) to a better BB, probably the Token Track JIS Square Taper mentioned in the list.
I'm not much of a mechanic and my flat is a bit small for this dirty job, so was probably going to get a price match at Evans and ask them if they could fit it with my first free service. Is this a good idea? Should I just get the whole bike serviced after just over 200 miles?
Advice needed form you guys!
