Just on modern groups on 126mm spaced steel frame...
My wife's bike is an old steel frame. Possibly Columbus. We fit a 2011 Campy Veloce compact groupset on it with no problems. That's with a braze on front derailleur too. had to slightly spread the rear, but it rides fine.
