Sound about right, so I'm looking at something like £600 with the 24-105mm F/4 USM lens.

  • Good price, one can do a lot worse for 600

  • im actually tempted, been wanting a 5d for ages.

  • Do it, such a good camera if you don't mind the size

  • I took some photos on saturday. Cross post from car thread:

A mate of mine is looking to get a BDC license and compete next year, so ahead of next month's licensing day, he went to a drift day at Lydden Hill to practice. I tagged along and took some photos. His is the Black R32 with primer front wings, the others are various people, some pro, and the E30 is a JDM Allstars competitor (seriously good)!

  • 60D with canon 50mm 1.4 and the cheapy cheap canon 70-300 f4-f5.6

  • Do it, such a good camera if you don't mind the size

It's the best camera I've ever used and don't feel cripped by it's ageing technology at all.

Reason I'm selling it is because I end up never using it and the Fujifilm X-Pro1 being a much more compact pro camera is much more suitable for me.

  • Great car pics dude, nice and sharp. Last one is best.

  • On another note, check this out

IQ at ISO 2000 GREAT LOL

this made me laugh. Not true that you can only use M lenses on Leica bodies though

  • But in full frame thought?

You can use M lenses on other bodies but they're generally cropped sensor like the Fuji.

  • ^^^^ Great pics :)

Yeah for me it is between buying a full frame dslr or an x100. Or just keep my d90 and get some primes to use to make it smaller

  • Oh yeh, that is true Ed.

  • If you are going to convert a Pro DSLR to have Leica lenses, why would you do it with an old model? Surely it would make sense to do this with a Nikon D800, the highest megapixel count at the moment?

  • What's the deal with Leica, forgive me if it's n00b question? Y so expensive/fan boi loving for them? What makes Leica so special?

  • Profound

  • ed, you get my pm?

Their optics used to be far superior to all other lenses when it came to range finders.

Since then the range finder market shrunk somewhat but with the new 'digital type range finders' coming about they could be a big player again, if they are more affordable.

Also their build quality is second to none. I almost brought one once upon a time, for the simple fact it really is a camera for life - but film became to expensive to develop and I didn't have the time to spend hours scanning film.

Said like a true Nikon fanboi...

    LOL. JK.

    Thanks for the info.

Ha! Fair. But even the Canon 24(?) mp body would have made more sense. If you are going to pay a premium to get the best lenses on your camera, surely you'd want to milk as much detail as possible from them?

Oh and to add to the logo thing, Leica are the Prada of the camera world. EVERYONE respects that they are top of the game, and pay for it. Must be a red logo thing goes off to change my logo
