  • Condor Terra-cross is crabon and has a disc option.

    I think.

Yes - you may well need to go a size lower than your road frame.

  • I'm butchering my Tempo at the moment...

  • Needs CX forks.

New handlebars. Cantilever's on the front.

Erm clearance at the back... (can't do anything about that, caliper brake it is...)

  • Oh and MOAR spacers.

  • BTW. Probably been asked a fair few times.

If I ride 54cm road bikes would I be looking to get a small/52cm CX frame?

    No. Same sizing.

    .

    It's also a bit of a minger.

    Perfect for minky.

  • Needs CX forks.

I'd offer you my cannondale ultracross forks - but you appear to be 7 foot giant - the steerer would be woefully inadequate.

Howard thanks for the offer, but I'm getting one on Saturday.

    HT = 230mm

    Not carbon.

Scandium ally alloy with carbon fork.

  • Fixed/SS only CX-race in Sweden 3 weeks ago

i see geared bikes and it looks more like a group ride instead of a race!?!?

Scandium ally alloy with carbon fork.

    Close enough

Strikes me as a more sensible choice anyway.

  • Very little interest in anything with the Condor name on it, esp. a minger like that mate. Thanks for the idea though! ;)

  • Has anyone considered the MERIDA Cyclocross 4 Disc? £999.99 with full 105 components and some very nice Hayes CX5 brakes. Saw one last week in a local shop and it is rather nice.
Still hard to justify it over a Boardman when it is reduced by £70.00 and 10% discount through British Cycling.

  • Sound fantastic for the money but I have no idea how the Haye CX5 brakes perform.

  • They certainly seem more solid than the BB5 on the Boardmans I have tried.
Admittedly only in the shop, but far less movement on the 105/CX5 combination than the SRAM/AVID and far more like the Ultegra and 105's I have used on my road bikes.

You can also add an NUS discount when ordering for in-store pick-up which adds another 10% discount.

I got mine for £689 when they were on sale at £850. They didn't ask for an NUS card, which is a good job.

  • RIDLEY are using CX5 brakes on their CX bikes for next year, so they can't be bad if they are using them on their Ultegra bikes. The few reviews I can find seem to confirm what I found on first impressions that there is less lever travel.

  • You mean Ridley 2013 range?

  • That as well. lol
Just their disc braked CX models, obviously.

I'm still a bit undecided about getting one with discs just because the brakes are awful in the wet on my CX9. UNless I can get around £700 for it

  • Disc are awesome, I loved the feeling of overtaking a brunch on a fast descent because I can comfortably brake a lots later safety.

  • Yeah, poached eggs and french toast didn't stand a chance.

  • sniggers

  • lol. thinking the same.

  • Mini V-brakes fo realz yo.

    Whatcha get piggy?
