Timings are a bit strange I think.
My garmin and SRM both show the same time, but the official timing has me finishing 2 minutes after that.
Quick, to the UCI!

I see my official time is 04:02:12 - but I am mistakenly listed for the short course. If I hadn't stopped for Ludwig when he fell and crashed a few red lights I would have made the gold time. But I'm a good boy...
Ludwig, you can get a free pair of jeans for telling the story of your crash and ruined jersey/gloves: http://www.rapha.cc/wearyourstory
You would like to tell it? Half a jeans. Thank you for all the well wishes.

Quick, to the UCI!
They can't be bothered to accept their responsibility to keep pro cycling safe. I'm not sure Neil's temporal dilemma will be addressed!

That could be if you are using auto-pause, the Garmin time is moving time and does not include stopping for traffic lights, peeing, etc.
I'm looking at total time, like a good fixie skidder I blew through every red light.
Quick, to the UCI!
I've never had any experience of event timing systems before, but if you think I should inform the UCI about this I'll get right on it.

I think they'd want pictorial evidence. Do you think you could supply them with that?
-
• #732
Would graphs with lots of different coloured traces do?
-
• #733
Did you keep your Garmin running, whilst you walked up the steps and indoors to the finising desk, or have they changed the finish routine now?
-
• #734
^ bingo.
-
• #735
Timing stopped at the sensors in the car park just as you got the sport club iirc.

It doesn't matter anyway, what's a couple of minutes when I went the wrong way for quarter of an hour.

German Garmin carmine.
That time on the Garmin is actually from Stoke Newington via Federation and Herne Hill to scene of crash. Which was caused by a pinch flat I now believe.

Apparently someone did in solo in 2:51 according to the spreadsheet. Target for next year.
-
• #741
Lol. Target aquired.
I'll be racing next season, so in better shame, so you'll have to stay uninjured and we can smash around.

6pt.Hmm?

Huh?
I'll be in better shape as I'll be racing next season. He'll have to stay uninjured. Or have hip replacement surgery!
-
• #744
fuck that. you've already got a target for next year, anyway.
(and so have I)
(you shouldn't have hung around for my puncture faff)
Curse that puncture your bad vibes caused me, 6pt (actually payback for feeling secretly smug when I caught up with you and skinny when you got your's) . I'd have been 5th or 6th on that segment without it - not the stuff of dreams, but then I'm easily pleased... Top three next year.

It was aimed at 6pt. Suggesting that he should be racing. -

A bit of a how long is a piece of string question- what's being in a group worth over this course, in terms of time versus running solo?
-
• #748
Running takes a lot longer than cycling, so I'd say a couple of hours.
-
• #749
First sportive I've ever done, forever-aloned it, just wondering if I'd have been quicker if I'd joined up with someone/some others

How big's the group? How much do they like you? Which way is the wind coming from? Is it raining? How many people in your group have mudguards? Do you? Do you all have an equal climbing ability? Will someone be holding you up on the hills? Will you be holding your train up on the hills?
I think traffic lights on the way in and way out make more of a difference.
This was actually the first event ride I've ever NOT had to stop to wee. Hydration managed.
