re: that youtube ^...^ If that rider had looked over their shoulder they'd have known there was that rangerover behind. I wouldn't have been in the right lane that far away from that right fork which I presume, from their choice of line, the rider was intending to position themselves for. I can see why a driver would pass on the left given the cyclist's position and the fact they were riding primary in the right lane without any observation. The cop's swerve was unnecessary but not surprising really. Car drivers have a sometimes irrational need to pass cyclists where the road ahead is clear, and often when it isn't. Always keep an eye on the popo cos they don't give a fuck.
The cyclist looks like they then pass a traffic light that is turning through amber, whilst following up the police car, in a way that seems pretty questionable. Whether the light had turned red or not has been edited out of the film, which doesn't look good for the rider.
Or am I being a total dick on this observation thing? I mean... yeah hold your line in the way that suits you, but have a little gander behind you or it just looks oblivious in a way that drivers like to 'punish' by giving you a scare.
