Ok, the current situation is the result of a misunderstanding- I had been told that the chimneys were all out of action, and that using your fireplace was verboten.
This was no biggie anyway, as our fire place had been bricked up long ago, as had everyone that connected to out group of chimneys.
So, when "adjusting" one of the rooms I took the back of the chimney out to make a bit more room.
Then we discovered that (as long as we had the thing swept) we could have a fire.
SO- I want to put a fireplace back in, and restablish the chimney.
I can do the brickwork, but how do I line the damn thing?
