Rim troubles!

Posted on
  • I have been having some trouble converting an old Claud Butler bike from tubular to clincher wheels. At the moment the wheels are the old style 32h/40h polished alloy 700c fiamme sprint rims. Does anyone have any ideas where I can get the same spec but in clincher. I originally was dead-set on a high-polish alloy finish but now I will settle for anything! Changing the rear hub from 40h to anything else is pretty much out of the question because I want to keep my Harden hubs on the bike. Thanks in advance!

  • Rigida Sputnik come in 40h flavour and almost any LBS should have an account with their distributor.

  • They look pretty interesting. Should be able to buff up that aluminium! Are they very wide?

  • 25mm (19mm internal). They're heavy, but strong and probably a bit lighter than steel rims.
