[Best Friends Forever Or Until Real Girlfriend(s)]Lololol must spread rep etc.
word on the street is he's gonna live with Tommmmmm
Yeah I knew dis, just didn't think they'd have found a place that quick.
I was meant to have a girl staying tonight but she has bailed so spotter is going to take her place.

Got bored of filing down the axles. Was taking longer than I had hoped. Got the front wheel on just fine, but had to file off a shocking amount of axle from the rear. Spent about 15 minutes doing the NDS axle which slots into the dropout just fine, I just couldn't be naffed to do the DS tonight.
Photo of frame with wheels tomorrow.
My order from Track Supermarket still hasn't shipped. Shakes fist at delay caused by ordering a 52T ring....

Ben
Do you have a rear brake? If not then why use a ceramic open pro when the rim is twice as expensive for the coated braking surface?
Well James...
ah but james you're forgetting...they look cool
...this, and it was a bargain. Though still in a quandary about the axle. Hmmmm.....

May you have to return them?
Or choose a different hub?
-
• #234
Kinda confused. The spacing on the front hub is fine. The rear - not so much. It's almost as if the hub has spacers on it? Sorry for shitty laptop camera, but it is the shiny bit on the inside of the nut and the outside of the threads.
These spacers are causing the spacing to be too large and the wheel won't fit on by about 4mm. Don't want to force it on.
Does anyone know if it's possible/how I'd go about removing them?
Just to confirm, the rear spacing is standard 120mm.

with a set of 15mm,16mm and maybe 17mm cone spanners?
-
• #236
Yeah grrrr only own 15mm. Bummer. I just want to see what it looks like with both wheels on. Definitely will need a pair of 16s. To be fair I have been meaning to buy some proper spanners so this is the perfect excuse!

• #237
these Icetoolz are budget (£6?) and work well enough
-
• #238
Just whack it in there.
-
• #239
That was meant for XH, Spotter and OP

Get a pair of proper coners FFS! 13 14 15. Two of each now when you have a set of hubs that are more rare then a pair of NOS Campa NJS hubs.
-
• #241
you bought that shiny 500pounds wheelset and now filing the axles?

Chill out. Am going to.

Can't help the miniature sized track ends on the frame. Rather file replaceable axles, than the frame.

Cant argue with that logic.
I would take those spacers out, they dont look like stock.
And +1 for those ice tools cone spanners. I have a similar looking set from decathlon and they work fine.

Kinda funny, just reading back through this thread. My largest connundrum was always what kinda wheels to go for..... Have chosen something completely opposite to what I originally planned.
A man of my word I am not....Le sigh.
-
• #245
just one of them things though innit. stupidly nice wheels to not say yes!
-
• #246
Jake just bend the stays out a bit to fit the hubs in. It'll be fine.
-
• #247
^^Yeah - just couldn't resist the slave....
^I've tried but the stays are still too tight with those spacers in place. Will just remove them, it's no big.
-
• #248
I guess it wasn't planned like that (?) but I see you took my advice about what carbon would work with this, in fact I think they're the same rims as the "example" I posted. It's going to look sick.
-
• #249
Yeah I think they are too. The one you posted is where TF normally take photos and these rims were only available in TF afaik...

How do customs get in touch with you? Genuine question. I don't think I wrote down a phone number when ordering....
Currently at customs. Hopefully I could have it on Saturday but I doubt it.
^ Eeek!
