what exactly does this do ? i have hundreds of 35mm processed negatives at home would like to digitise them ... would this machine do that for me ?

Yes - thats exactly what it does.

It will scan 35mm negatives onto your computer.

what kind of quality are the images produced ? would there be a megapixel equivalent ?

You can easily print A4/A3 size prints.

The TIFF files I have are around 28mb in size.

I had a coolscan V - the resolution and quality was very impressive. Pro quality.

Def interested but not in London until late next week at the earliest so quick sale rules me out I'm afraid.

By the looks of it I won't be selling it soon, so it might be yours by next week.

This is a VERY GOOD film and slide scanner. And quite rare at that. Highly recommanded for professional photographers or enlighted amateurs.
