they won't pass through because the bolt sleeve is a bit thicker than the size of the slot?
easily remedied with a power drill and bit to take 1/4 - 1/2 mm off the slot faces, with the drill running just punch into the slot then run it up and down the slot like a mill, dead easy, dead quick!
