road cleats, my peddle keeps falling upside down which is causing difficulty too..

I fell i my second ride, I had slipped the foot unclipped and lost my balance. Still I am very happy with clipless, I'm much more confident and with a better pedal stroke.

Fallen over a bunch with Look Delta's, never with Time ATAC's... but I did manage to go arse up unclipping and trying to dismount and jump over a barrier with my left foot still clipped in while racing 'cross the other day... not fun.

At first anyway.

Went for a cycle ride with my uncles in France... Mamils. With look cleats.
No actual falls, but pretty close.
That is't just the bitterness of me having to ride the 75 euro decathlon mountain bike...

had a problem with the rear wheel on a climb, slipped from the drop out as I got out the saddle on a steep section. Had to stop to sort out. On starting out again I was faced with the krypton factor of clipping it uphill. Low gear, pushed off with the right, tried to clip in but since I was on a slope I had no speed and no time and ended up spilling into the road. Fast road too but the two cars behind saw me with plenty of time, and one slowed with hazards on to shield me while I got back up, then offered to shelter me while I got going, but I thanked him but said I would walk up to a flatter section.
Checked the rear wheel and its fucked I think, badly out of true, not happy with Planet X. My elbow was pretty banged up and I had lost confidence with the equipment so decided the discretion was the greater part of valour and headed back down.
This is the second time I have shipped the rear wheel on the climb, the QRs were pretty tight I thought, Planet X hubs. That was potentially dangerous as well

Uphill clipping in, such a pain. 80GI fixed having to clip in halfway up Ditchling Beacon was a right laugh...

Been getting on pretty well with SPD's for a couple of months now.
Extra careful esp on the canal part of my commute. Then dog off lead runs out in front of me... emergency stop... Forgot to unclip - down I go.

question , ? if one likes to spin , the flexibility in the foot you get from trainers and clips and straps, is lost in road shoes ??? is it ? or do i need to just get used to and adapt my technique to road shoes ?

I didn't fall off first time, though traffic lights became a worry for a while.
My worst incident was probably trying to filter too tightly between stationary cars at Blackfriars, i cut the corner too tight and had no room to recover the bike, consequently falling onto the bonnet of a Bentley Continental GT, looking up to see a rather surprised lady - not too concerned about her car.
I did the obligatory gesture of cleaning the bonnet whilst saying sorry and she smiled! All good.

Stopped at a roadsign and when my speed reached 0 mph I realized my feet were still attached to the bike. Result, me falling into the grass, laughing.

Nope but very near the edge.

I found the clipping-out motion on spds very similar to getting out of restraps, so no accidents so far.

nearly a whole month. 30 - 40 odd miles a night. still no fall.
i used to fall of quite regulary in straps and clips. think i found it quite troublesome to undo double straps by hand . dis engaging in spds is tons easier.
and by the way , i dont no how anyone can ride in cleats with no float.

Had my first ride on clipless pedals last night. Didn't fall off but at one stage i did find myself rolling slowly through a red light with both my feet unclipped. I appear to have lost the ability to put my feet down at all.

Didn't fall the first time but found dealing with a coaster brake and spd's interesting. Ditched the coaster in the end due to lack of control in wintery conditions and not wanting to use the front too heavily on the slippy stuff but not being able to pedal and brake with the back to keep it from locking. Ended up using my face as a brake;( the pedals have stayed and I've fitted a proper brake. How do they manage in holand?

nearly crashed a mercedes benz during my first time using clipless pedals. i was using road cleats at the time and when i tried to stop, my feet was sliding because of the slippery road.

Why were you driving a Mercedes Benz with clipless pedals?
Get someone to ride behind you with a camcorder. It won't help you but you can post the footage here for the rest of us.
If riding spd then try using the middle of the shoe to push down until you get more momentum, if using road cleats remember to approach the pedal by pushing your foot forwards to engage as straight down can cause you to miss.
