• *I understand where you're coming from Neil, but bear in mind that if you're all traveling to London then there will be less bike polo being played in RoUK scenes (meaning potentially less new players for you and the decline of your numbers for future years).

In my opinion the success of your Summer months should be based around how many new players you manage to pick up, usually the new players that stick it out over the Winter are the ones that get the bug, meaning you have a solid number of (committed) new players for the next summer season.* <

MHBP are pretty active throughout the year re. recruitment (and equally important - retention) and have further outreach plans and funding initiatives developing for 2013 with city council partners. Several of our 'class of 2012' players have made notable progress both here and at national events - particularly Sal, Andy, Sylvia and Emma - MHBP has some claim to 'success' in its first year of existence.

A regional team or two making the effort (and expense) to continue to play with the best in the UK throughout the winter is no barrier to this progress. Indeed, if MHBP is lacking a certain something right now it's a premier team for others to aspire to and one of the reasons identified is the somewhat enforced winter break of 'senior' polo. Hence any opportunity to be in and around LDN when league events are on, to play some prearranged matches would be of great benefit in the bigger picture.
