Certainly, very early ones didn't have cable guides but later ones did. I've seen some panto'd and some not. Afraid it wasn't an exact science! Merckx were built by Colnago, De Rosa, Kessels and even Falcon.

dropouts on derosa built merckx frames are finished with a point.
Where can this information concerning the dropouts be confirmed ?
Or is it just hearsay ?Any information greatly appreciated!
