Man, SS400s are awful in traffic. If you set up the suspension properly, your wrists are going to take a pounding, they've got crappy steering lock, little / no torque, poor visibility and the NC30 in particular has a stoopid high first gear.
On smoothish twisty roads or a racetrack, I like them but everyday in London, nein danke.
DRZ400s are OK but heavy for what they are and underpowered. I love supermotos around town though - I have a monster craving for a Husky SM510R, (especially the injected version) but you can't easily reverse the gearshift and I have a bit of a nightmare with conventional these days.
