About 10 years back I stumbled across the world chainsaw carving championships at some national trust property (no idea where now). It was amazing. About 40 people standing around their tree creating stuff like this. They then had a 30 minute break to have "speed carve" competition on a little stump. Incredible.
I haven't made anything serious in years, too busy crafting a PhD, which feels most uncraft like. I'd love to make another guitar sometime, though currently content myself with occasional knitting.
