Anyone fancy some scenic touring?

Stu, I might be up for stuff like this, although probably not this kind of off-road(ish) stuff. Scotland's a bit of a mission, but could do Wales/South West/East Anglia over a few days on weekends or mid-week.
I'm thinking about a two-week trip next summer, maybe France/Germany, but haven't decided when/where. Come!

Hell yeah Dan! well up for a European tour. That guy on my thread said the Great Glen Way is not wise unless you have an MTB and I'm inclined to take his word for it. A tour round the same area (Oban, Fort William etc) but on proper rounds would be incredible though although as you say, a bit of a mission to get to. I like the direction you have be doing a canal route so will do some more reasearch and get back to you. I'll look at ones that have good paved surface (if any) cos I'd like to ride my proper road bike first and foremost. The idea of doing it on a tourer was just a compromise to experience the landscape

I can do little one/two nighters here and there, but want to do a longer tour, probably next summer, but almost certainly outside of term time, so it can coincide with the missus' holiday and I can send her back to Canada.
Temporarily, like.

Anyone up for doing some weekday evening countryside rides? I was thinking maybe once every other week. 20-30 miles with a pub stop?
You'll probably need a fairly serious light as almost all the roads are unlit.
-
• #666
I'm in - I'll just ride behind you and leech off your light.

As if you could keep up...

But seriously, how about Monday, after dinner. 7.30pm.

There's a Digbeth residents meeting on Monday, talking about HS2 amongst other stuff, so if i make it out in time for 7:30pm, i'll tag along.
Keen to make this a regular thing. -

Cool - I want to keep active over the winter, and evenings are easier for me than weekends. I can do other nights, so I'm happy to vary the days.

Riding out to Tanworth in Arden in a minute if anybody wants to meet there and ride back?

Good times. The Digbeth meeting is due to finish at 7pm, so i reckon that 7:45pm would be easily achievable. Where should we meet for the ride?

I vote my place. Obvs. Don't listen to bottom-of-the-hill Neil.

Ride from Pineapple Rd, all abilities welcome, lights essential 7:30pm for a 7:45pm departure.
Come on! Once you've done one autumn night ride, you'll love it.
Sweet Sam!
Google cycling route says 94 miles, but i'm going to go through that route and see if it can be tweeked. The return train is £14-£18.
