I mean, I hope so. Group rides can be smooth like butter, but they can be smited the Meddling gods as well. No intention to hoon it up and down the lanes or anything but I think we can all do more than 9 mph average to Cambridge

also need to be back for 6-7

may bail early if that seems like it won't be the case...

I'm not coming, not that I was ever on the list but I was kind of planning on turning up anyway, but I will be spending the weekend in barking & dagenham. fun fun times.

also - there are hills at the start. but the last 15 miles is gently downhill. it is ace.
(if you are approaching from Royston direction that is, haven't actually checked your route)

At work yet again with zero sleep. I might flake if tonight is a heavy one, and not sure I should be doing many miles with a knee issue anyway.

Apollo & co, we'll swing by the Pub on the Park to pick you up, no worries. And a quick survey of weather sites suggests* it'll be nice-ish in the a.m. and then cloud over in the arvo. Either way it's not like a heatwave out there atm homies so bring stuff to keep you warm and/or dry.

Hmmm, after spending too much time lurking on this thread and wondering why it has to be on the same day as the Randonee - my brain has finally kicked in with the realisation that I could potentially do both.

Anyone know roughly what time drinks in the Maypole are expected to take place?

Urgh, this plan has been scuppered by a work-related crisis which means i need to be glued to a laptop all afternoon! :(

I still feel like some early miles though so will attempt to ride the first half of this @ 8am, then turn round and time-trial back to London in time to get some work done. With a bit of luck I'll be finished in time to make the Randonee.

I shall shout American based abuse encouragement as I pass...
