Don't know about the year... I would check the hub but it's in the garage and covered in dirty oil. It's a fairly late model though; the Dawes logo is silver text in a round oval, mid-80s I'd say.
Anyway.
It's probably supposed to be 28.6, but it's either been enlarged by someone forcing or wiggling a seatpost around in it, or it's just not very well built. Or maybe my seatpost/shim combo is smaller than the marked size (27.2 shimmed to 28.6). I couldn't find a 450mm seatpost in 28.6 so had to go for 27.2.
Still haven't done anything with it, other than put a long seatpost on it and ride it. I'm going to start measuring up and designing some drop-bolts for the brakes so I can get the BMX wheelset on.
