The termination of the rib on the shoulder is really messy. Nice colour way though.

    Don't want

If I'm not mistaken I thought that was the womens gillet?

  • no vents on the hardshell would be very warm. Probably only wear it 5 days a year

Just like the soft shell then

  • I realise I'm in the minority here but I like the day glo pink gilet.

  • Just like the soft shell then

soft shells has vents - or was that in reference to 5 days a year?

  • Just like the soft shell then

You need to work less and ride more.

    Me too.

    1. They are sweatshop manufactured from unethically sourced merino (whether or not this is an issue for you is up to you, it is for me)
Oh no! Where have you read this Dan?
  • I bet you didn't get cold.

Actually WTF were you doing in all that when it was 15c? HTFU.

lol! the heavens opened and i put on anything waterproof i had as i had 15 miles to ride

  • What is the general view on the club jersey (at £70)?

  • Nice but a bit pricey.

  • Can't believe I set that one up.

  • #golf clap

  • ha!

  • I just went to put my Rapha shorts on for the first time, and the button came off.

Either I'm far, far too fat, or my expectations of the product were too high.

I was wrong, it's available for both men and women.

    New stock:

  • Saw this magazine for sale at lunch It's a new launch. I couldn't help but think of rapha;

Eh? I ride plenty I think.

I could only wear the softshell on 2 days (that i can remember) last winter - which was pretty mild, granted. I don't commute though, I think i'd wear it more if I did.

  • Oh no! Where have you read this Dan?

I'll try to find the article on my instapaper. Though, honestly its pretty straightforward, merino is expensive (relatively) to produce... If you are selling merino jumpers for 15 pounds, economically, the chances are:

    1) it's come from a badly managed source
    2) it's not 100% merino wool (it's a very broadly used, and badly regulated term for a wide range of wool blends)

I commute and wore the softshell all the time, and all the way up until April I think, but then my commute is a short ride (10 miles) and its an early start (7.30am) so wrapping up in that badboy is perfect. For longer training rides etc it will get pretty sweaty

  • New page bump. Sue me.

Is this top still available? I'll take it off your hands.

    Cheers

  • Visited the Rapha Cycle Club store in Osaka today.

It is lovely and the upstairs lounge is superb, loaded with books, a couple of comfy couches, plenty of other seating and a big projection screen. And a really gorgeous bike.

The single (?) staff member, Ryo, was very friendly and helpful. I was bib-shorts shopping so he recommended I try on the Classics. I shouldn't have.

I had a coffee while thinking whether they were worth the cost. This was just about the best coffee I've had in Japan, I think.

I caved and bought the Classic Bib Shorts and some chamois cream. Prices are a little higher than in the UK, but oh well. I'm thinking of them as an investment!

I expect by gooch to be floating on a cushion of pure bliss on my next ride.

If you're ever in the area I highly recommend stopping by. The area is loaded with cycle couriers on neat bikes and there's a good road bike shop across the street so you can almost make a day of it...

  • If Ryo is single did you get his number?

Oh yeah, nice new bibs. Remember not to shit in them please.

  • Haha, not quite what I was implying. Alas, I don't swing that way. I am now friends with him on Facebook though so if I ever change my mind...

Yeah I have no intention of emptying my bowels in these, cheers! Incidentally that's not why I wanted a new pair!
