• You probably haven't been rammed from behind by a car while waiting at a red light.

No cyclist jumping a red light has ever affected me whilst cycling. I have been riding on the roads for over 25 years. So how does this work? We are all idiots for not having a similar experience to you?

    actually i have

It was on Chiswick High St

Lights were red so I filtered down the right and pulled into the ASL (well as much as I could fit in due to a car already encroaching it). There were two lanes (left or straight on) and I was in the straight on lane. The lights were filtered for left or straight, the left turn light went green and the car behind me just drove straight into the back of me.

Driver starts shouting and I say the police need to be called. She gets back in her car and tries to drive off with me standing in her way. She nudged me repeatedly with the car (whilst I am on the phone to the old bill). Eventually she agrees to wait for the old bill.

My favourite comment from her was it would not have happened if I had been wearing a helmet (she was hysterical and also said her son had been killed in a cycling accident this year so it was all a little dark).
