what, the list up to 9 wasn't reason enough?
-
• #58
Very excited about this.
A stupid question, I'm sure, but just humour me - The Brick Lane Polo courts are on Shacklewell Street yes?
Also, I won't be finishing the ride at the Maypole with you lovely people, I will be swinging off about 5 miles earlier in Shelford at the 'rents house.
Fingers crossed for no rain.

awww, not sure if I can make this now. Have to be back in London at about 6pm

Hmmm, after spending too much time lurking on this thread and wondering why it has to be on the same day as the Randonee - my brain has finally kicked in with the realisation that I could potentially do both.
Anyone know roughly what time drinks in the Maypole are expected to take place?

Wish I could build up the Panny in time for this :-(

A tried and tested route for a civilised day out. Ideal for your fixed/single-speed – but of course please come if you fancy it and only have gears. The route is dead easy, flat and basically perfect for spinning with one gear.
Last time I believed anything on this forum I ended up climbing endless hills thinking I was gonna faint!
I liked last weeks ride to Southend so I might join this one if I'm free and if I can fix my bike before then…

RM If we leave at 9 (9:20 hipster time) then it would be super nice if we could be in the Maypole for 3.30-4.00, barring mechanicals or any Le Tour style carpet tac situations, however we'll roll past the station before we arrive at the pub so you could peel off early and head back.
Eyko, don't worry. Have a look at the profile. You can see there are a few not-quite-flat-bits in the middle but the farther you ride the flatter it gets...

.....And Shacklewell street yes?

Shackelwell street yeah, that's the one

I mean, I hope so. Group rides can be smooth like butter, but they can be smited the Meddling gods as well. No intention to hoon it up and down the lanes or anything but I think we can all do more than 9 mph average to Cambridge

^ forum ride wishful thinking ;)
There are plenty of train stations along the route to bail out for people if they need to get back
