Tenderloin, I thought we looked good, albeit against lacklustre opponents, but I'm thinking the Dembele, Sandro, Huddlestone, combination (2 out of those 3) gives us enough deep lying/forward thinking midfielders to be able to play out quickly to Lennon and Bale.
Think we are placing alot of pressure/weight on Siggurdson's shoulders, to be the creator behind the lone front man, but maybe he gets subbed off Dembele is pushed further forward and Huddlestone slots into midfield..
Bale has to take another step up this season, and Lennon has to prove his worth isn't just about pace, otherwise Dempsey will be starting out on the right..
VDV was never going to be happy to sit on the bench, used as an impact sub, or be hauled off after 60/70mins. And I think he would have disrupted the team in his attempts to get more playing time, also as mentioned previously, he's not particularly happy being defensively minded, and working back for the team.
One other thing, is that if Sandro and Dembele create a good solid midfield partnership, which seemed to be the case on Sunday, then how does Parker fit in, and where? I love Parker for his enthusiasm, dynamism and constant harrying of the opposition, but Sandro and Dembele look like they can do that part of his job as well as adding more going forward...
