My first build: Brother Track

Welcome to my mid life crisis...

1. So we have a Brother track frame in silver.
   
   

Already over budget so trying to do the rest cheapish.

1. BLB saddle which I picked up for a tenner

2. Literally Piecing together a Miche Primato Advanced Chainset which I'm hoping will come in around £50

The chainline is going to be fcked because I have a 111mm BB but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it

1. Wheels - ? Probably looking to spend <£140

2. Handlebars - ?

3. ?

4. Parts colourscheme is black on black but when built it's getting sprayed steal-proof pink

Noooo! You don't need to 'steal-proof' this bike. You need to buildIt up so its your 'mint as fuck, only ever take it out when it's bone dry and when you know you don't have to lock it up outdoors' bike. Then spend under £100 on a beater and ride that every day!

This frame is so beautiful that I plead with you to do it justice with parts, love and attention to detail it deserves. After all, if a man were to buy a Porsche to cure his mid life crisis then surely that would only come out at the weekends?

And for the love of god, don't paint it, especially don't paint it pink!

Anyway, best of luck with whatever you decide to do.

because he probably wants to ride it rather than just look at a pile of parts until he can afford Phil hubs.

Build it with what you have and change the bits you don't like as you go, you'll end up changing bars/stem/saddle anyway, it takes trial and error to work fit etc out.

in a rat-hhsb sort of way I sympathise with this build.

rad frame, cheap build, every day bike. no problems. looking forward to seeing final result.
