• that was awesome thank you john for organising it.

at many points in the day i wondered to myself, what the heck are you doing here, are you mad?
four hours into the ride it dawned on me that i had just cycled for more hours than the total number i had cycled from january to this date.
the hills were not excessively big but after 3 hours they felt like there was always going to be another one around the corner that i would have to tackle the last two hundred metres traveling at a snails pace.
WARNING: if you take a tow from vello by holding onto his saddle while going up hill he will sit on your hand. you have been warned. i can remember it happening but i have managed to erase from my mind what it felt like.
the flat bits were gorgeous and the number of stops for views and rest timed perfectly.
the ride was exactly what it said on the tin 'all inclusive, not a race and waiting for everyone'
the sight of the sea after so many hours and promises of it being "just around the corner" from t4ny4 & blowfish was a sight for sore eyes. i felt like running in.

things i am looking forward to:-

    1.doing something similar
2.seeing all your smiling faces at the tops of hills as i crawled to the top
3.my body aching tomorrow that will tell me i had a such a great time today

things i would do exactly the same:-
eat as often as possible - it saved me, i didnt once feel uncomfortable.
bring layers - better to take them off than wish you had some to put on

55 miles pfft .........no way was that 55, it felt like 70 :-)

thanks for the medicinal guinness and i am loving the pictures
