(Directions to Westway Sports Centre are here:
http://www.westwaysportscentre.org.uk/directions/
Latimer Road is the closest tube station, its on the Hammersmith & City / Circle Lines, which you can bring your bike on.Heads up. No service all weekend on Circle Line due to flippin' engineering work. Hammersmith & City fine though

• #105
Will try and get there as early as possible to help out. Key I also have a few prizes for you and wheelcovers for people...email/message me if there's anything you need!

Hey Jess, nice one. All should be smooth for tomorrow - but yeah, the more people that are there early tomorrow, the less work involved for us all. Come down as early as you can, I'll need some help for registering teams and linking up unteamed players.
I'll be there from around 9am. You know where it is, right?
-
• #107
Err kind of, I'm going to try and get the Hammersmith line from Liverpool street! My bike/mallets/pads/helmet can all be loaned out too.
-
• #108
ah brilliant. I'll be on the trains but without my bike, too much stuff to carry. Just give me a shout if you cant find it. But its very close to latimer road, You'll be fine

Grand. I realised you can get the overground from Hackney Central to Shepherds Bush which is a short ride to Latimer Rd for anyone coming from NE...

Just a quick post to say sorry that I won't be coming to this to help (I'm heading to Devon), it sounds awesome and everyone involved deserves a big pat on the back!

Jono you waster, you never do anything for London polo.
(Beagle winky. Have a nice weekend in Devon)
From the mailout:
Apologies for the late night update. In respone to some questions that came back via email:
The Circle Line is closed tomorrow. But the Hammersmith and City line is still running. So you can still get a train to Latimer Road (with your bike). Please take the time to plan your journey to Westway. There are other overground and mainline stations relatively close by. Of course if you have a bike then getting there will be a lot easier... spin to win! TFL closure info is here:
http://www.tfl.gov.uk/tfl/livetravelnews/realtime/track.aspx?offset=weekendThere will be storage areas for bikes and bags on either sides of the court. We've booked the basketball training area and the side nearer the building, which I think is a cricket training spot. So please keep your bikes and bags in these areas. And do keep an eye on your gear - it hasnt ever been a problem at Westway but there will be a lot of people there tomorrow.
Please try and get there on time. We will do our best to accomodate latecomers, but once the entire first round has been played, i.e. once everyone who has arrived has played one game, then we will have to move on to the next round - and it wont be possible to admit latecomers because of the format we are using. So if we have a dozen teams, we will be finished the first round in an hour (games are ten minutes long). Sorry but we only have one court and we are under time pressure to get the games played. You will also be "whipped" during the day, so keep an eye on the schedule to know when you are up.
Set the alarm clock and join us early. Met Office says it's going to be a clear, crisp Autumn day, perfect conditions for polo. Cant wait.If you have a smartphone, you can follow the entire day's proceedings, including results, the standings, and the schedule, at
http://followpodium.com/wildwest
John H is to be thanked for this - he's a wizard with the tournament scheduling - big thanks to him. We'll write up the rounds on the whiteboard at the courtside.
OK that's it. See you in the morning. Looking forward to it.

Manchester are killing it. My £1 is on Jean-Claude God Damn to win, with an extra 50p on Salman getting MVP.

Shit, 5 wins, 30 goals for, none conceded. I hope someone's got a camera pointed at this.

Great fun, wish I coulda stayed to the end... Great work by Kev, Ben, Sean, Jess and H-Bomb... Some real talent to watch there...
Best bit: H-Bomb getting very carried away and dicking Polo Illuminati... "Shame on you!"
Funniest bit: H-Bomb playing left-handed... "Lefty H-Bomb pisses all over righty H-Bomb!"

Ace day. Thanks Kevin and all involved in running and organising. Really pleased that one of my team, Sylwia won female MVP. She proper carried Team Bib Hate but was also really encouraging and I learnt loads from her. Ace day.

Thanks for an awesome day everyone. I speak for all of us when I say we learnt so much from this tournament, finally nice to play teams our level and work on our polo rather than the 5-0 beatings we usually take :). Jean claud, Sheffield and frame, most fun I've ever had playing ...cheers guys!!!

Sylwia played great, good call...

party illuminati took the golden goal final 1-0. Tense to the end, both teams visibly tiring. Proper write up soon but thanks to all LPC volunteers who helped out during the day. Would have been impossible without you.
Got the knee pads of Rob for you
