For the sake of those that might face the same problem in the future and don't throw a tantrum when people try to help them... then you can get a special tool for punching out the outer cup of the bearing from the opposite side. Similar in prinical the the way you punch out headset cups.

Exact same thing happened to me this morning on my beater hub. Anyone have any idea what the 'thingumybob' that he used was? Has anyone tried the boiling water technique with any success?
Like I said, it's on my beater so really don't want to make this expensive! I've tried a few taps with a screwdriver and a hammer from the other side but there's nothing to get any purchase on.

Can you not get a screwdriver to connect with the race at all or just a little bit?
If it comes to it, you could cut a couple of slits in the outer race with a dremel or something and then get medieval on the motherscrubber.

No, there is 0% purchase on the race. I tried wedging a flat head in from the stuck side, trying to flip it out but as the point of leverage is on the actual race itself all I got was a load of sparks.
I don't have a dremel, and as it's my beater and I'm about to go on holiday on monday, I'd like to avoid spending £50 on a tool, even if I will use it in the future. Don't know anyone to borrow one off either, already asked likely candidates!

Managed to find a mini dremel in maplin for a tenner and the little bastard managed to cut a wedge out of the race! Whacked that little motherscrubber until it came flying out. Hub has a few scars but it's my beater, so FFFAAAAARRRRKKK it!
