Ball-achingly close to doing my first ever century, 90 something miles from Bristol to Reading along the Kennet & Avon Canal path on the newly finished tourer (see functional bikes thread). Would like to do it again as a night ride sometime to avoid all the walkers and slow cyclists. Quite surprised at how well my legs held up, although it did take me about 9 hours all in all (with stops and getting lost a couple of times)
Funny moment when, about ten miles from Reading a guy told me 'you're only about half way there' when I asked him how far was left..... 'how do you know!?'
