Does anybody on here play GTA2 still? It's only 13 years old and I still haven't completed it.

Sure this has been discussed up thread but I either missed it or forgot the reasons why:

Why is Origin so much more expensive than any of the competition?

I own a DVD version of Battlefield 3.
I paid 29.99
To buy the same version as a digital download it's 39.99
To buy the upgrade to Premium as a download it's another 39.99

FIFA 13 is available for 44.99

Sim City is available as a download for 64.99 (admittedly a 'deluxe' version).

Medal of Honour for 44.99

I can vaguely understand that the last two would be more expensive as those are exclusive to Origin/EA. But the rest? It irks the shit out of me. Like many people, the idea of cloud stored games either on Steam/Origin or similar really works - but surely the overheads are lower and they can in turn lower prices for customers?

Steam seems to managed just fine with COD:BO2 being the most expensive thing on the site (apart from Bundles) for 39.99. Normally the 'premium' games are 29.99, with most being available cheaper as a part of regular deals.

What am I missing?

No honestly. The sims 3 has been regularly reduced by steam but origin only even drop the price a little.

Hence why they won't release their new games on steam or any other distribution service. They have a monopoly and can charge what they want.

I saw on Penny Arcade that Baldurs Gate is getting a re-release. Any good? Worth it?

Really looking forward to some Armoured Kill for BF3 tonight. Unfortunately that will probably be when I get home from Norths so I will be drunk and useless.

I succumbed on Origin (but still not to upgrading to Premium for the same cost as the original BF3 as was an earlier consideration) and pre-ordered MOH:Warfighter. I also pre-ordered the command and conquer ultimate collection. I have a few of them on steam but they were dirt cheap and not ones I like to play anyway (RA3, Tib Wars etc) this way I have the complete collection - hopefully in a format that will have been tinkered with to work on a modern machine without having to fiddle too much.

Also comes with advance access to the new C and C.

Incidentally, the pre order of MOH comes with beta access to BF4.
