to over come the lack of lock ring threads, I have some spacers made for me as a temporary fix
the problem was that the thread had come off right by the cog so the lockring would just keep turning for ever, i'm hoping that the slimmest spacer will do the job and allow it to be tightened using the renaming thread
as I said this is only a temporary fix
