if its a screw type hub on your existing wheel, all you need to do is screw on a bmx freewheel and redish the wheel.
you can make it fixed by screwing on a fixed cog and using thread lock, also screw on an old english BB lock ring against it, using thread lock again, and redish the wheel. ive done this once, worked well enough to brake against it and it never came loose.
theres nothing wrong with old bike parts by the way, 9 times out of 10 i go for old gear over new.
