Shame they stopped the all-you-could-eat curry nights.
Still upset that we only managed to get to one of those.
Is there more parking than the 2 Sheffield stands outside?

Three Stags is pretty small, nice pub tho'...

Have you thought about the Jolly Butcher's in Stoke Newington?
+1

i think all drinks will eventually gravitate here
it's only a matter of time -

T4ny4, we were discussing this last night, about how south is south. I'm not against vauxhall, its round the corner from my house, but I think we were saying camberwell/brixton/herne hill/tulse hill was the kind of general catchment area.
Though obviously we could stretch it, don't want to move to far south east either, so as to not encroach on the SE's
SE needs all the help it can get -

Flash in the pan, wasn't it?

The Cambria by Loughborough Junction is a cracking spot.
lived round the corner from the Cambria great pub, friendly staff, nice food & garden out the back, not alot of bike locking, think there are two purpose locking things, and a few parking notification posts. Not far from ruskin park in the summer if peolple fancy tinnies in the park.

There are two stands right outside the pub and two directly across the road. After that it's lampposts and the beer garden, which has ample space for a stack of bikes (under shelter, even) and only one small doorway onto the road.

I for one would appreciate it being a little less East :)

This seems as good a time as any to return to the institution that is Souths....plus I have a pass for the evening!
See you all there -

Summers ending, South's may need a new home, and reinvigoration is needed. So in that vein, South's takes to the road on the every so often pub trawl. So on Monday 17th September, starting at approx 6.30 we will be drinking/riding/drinking, in that order to several pubs south of the river.
Find below a list of pubs that are in the mix for trekking to. Route planning, general work evasion and/or boasting about how much alcohol will be consumed can be noted here. Feel free to add/amend/delete, before next week friday.
Route/Order of pubs will be posted up on the Sunday...
Possible pub destinations
Cambria arms - Loughborough junction
Duke of Edinburgh - Brixton
Trinity Arms - Brixton
Mansion arms - crystal palace
Crown and anchor - Brixton
Half moon - herne hill
Prince of Wales - cleaver sq kennington
Devonshire arms - clapham south
The Bear - Camberwell
Rosendale - Herne hill
The Kennington - kennington?good idea man.
can't you put these on map? or at least provide postcodes? location is as important as anything else...
personally i would prefer to see souths remain reasonably far west (as the C&H) though i haven't been for 2 years so what's the point in me posting this....

you'll be passing close to the Red Lion on kennington park road, which is a decent pub. yard at the back, not at the front though, so not great for keeping an eye on bikes. there's a few sheffield stands in front.
I always pass the White Bear theatre pub, never been in. lots of seats in front. is it no good?

Fred, I refer you to my previous post #36 which has a link to Souths Pub Crawl map upon which the locations of the pubs in question are provided..
does nobody click on the links?????
Hoefla, I always pass the white bear and never go in either, it may get a look in the next time round, there are at present ten pubs on the list, and to make it longer would require a serious effort of will and drinking power...

Most likely out, unfortunately. Feeling rough as hell at the moment. But we shall see.

Shouldn't we be leaving at 7:00? We have 11 pubs to hit
-

+1 lovely garden but not much space for bikes directly outside and pints are £££.
Balham is very 2011 too.
Balham is actually 2002 and has been rapidly disappearing ever since.

11 pubs? Starting at "7:30" (which in hipster time is 8:10) doesn't leave you very much time does it?
Something like 16.37 mins per pub including travel time.Drink fast, ride faster.

Zebra, got to allow for late arrivals, and I've got no problem with cutting pubs off the list...
Since there has been no list, I've no ideas of numbers and I'd like to give people a chance to get involved from the beginning.
Plus lots of the pubs early on, up to the black dog, are pretty close together, so cycling time is minimal..

Sounds fine to me

Hi there,
I'm new to the forum and also to fixed gear as I just joined the forum and had my bike hud set to fixie this weekend.
Can please someone let me know if makes sense for me to join a ride like the one you're doing today? If so, how can I do it.
Thanks in advance,
didipot
